There is “The Hookerman,” allegedly the ghost of a railroad worker (brakeman?) looking for his lost arm(s). The “spirit” walks along the railbed of the HIgh Bridge Branch in Flanders, NJ, where the track had been taken up.
The “ghost” manifests itself as a light moving along about waist height, supposedly that of the brakeman’s lantern as he searches for his severed arm.
