Shadow People

Haunted is actually the wrong word. More like has a presence. My Dad’s been in several haunted locations before throughout his lifetime, and his old metal shop he rented used to be haunted. Apparently renters 6 years before him or so had used it for some kind of cult ritual meeting place. As I was a kid then, I knew the place well. There was a group of offices and storage rooms in front, and one door leading to the electronics department, and two more to the metal shop proper. If you stood at the far end of the door in the rear of the electronics room, and all of the doors were open, you had a really good view straight to the door/offices through electronics. Often employees told dad that they saw a man, sometimes dressed in blue jeans and a black t-shirt, sometimes a shadow person at night, walk through the offices and, calling out or walking over to see if it was a customer, would find nothing. They’d see arms fling at their heads out of the corner of their eyes and, once, my dad was working on his truck in the metal shop and the hood slammed down right where his head had been moments before, and it never has fallen any other time. Bottles placed specifically in the center of a recently cleaned steel 350+ lb table (long story lol) would fly across the room mere minutes after being set down- FIRMLY. Piles of steel would fall over, etc. We, as kids, would see shadows moving sometimes, and a light that completely defies the commands of it’s switch. And that extremely creepy feeling all over, like being watched, in the attic storage where we hung out all of the time.

Quite a bit of that happens at my house now. Half of the time, I feel like I’m being watched, especially in the kitchen. The overhead fluorescents defy the switches too, more or less, and shut on and off very specifically. Basically, 5 years ago my great-grandfather died with the family in Florida. We visited when it happened, and brought great-grandma home to Arizona with us. Right then the light started shifting on and off, eerily in response to what we say. We’ll be telling someone about the shop ghost, and it’ll flick off, and when we talk about something else it’ll come back on. Once it shut off on us (we have two sets of two, and any one or all of them will shut off in any combination, this time it was all of them), I looked up for one second, said “Hi Baba” (grandpa’s nickname to us) and they turned on immediately. Or, when grammy is visiting in Florida again yearly, it’ll shut off less often and, when it does, we’ll know to call Grammy. Without fail, everytime she’s away that it shuts off is when Grammy is having a bad time.

Also, once my parents left to North Carolina or someplace, for my brother’s graduation from BCT (random cool fact, President Bush gave the speech too lol), leaving us alone with Grammy. The lights stopped shutting off the entire time they were away, but pictures of him with the family that could come showed several where he was surrounded by “orbs”.

We’ve checked the wiring, too, and it’s fine, and we’ve replaced the lights twice, no change.
Occasionally I do see something really vague outside of the corner of my eye, but only at home with or without glasses, doesn’t matter.

Some friends say it’s hard to believe as we don’t get the usual activity you hear about, but Dad insists that it must just be family members “checking in”.

We know very well how dangerous one can be. We watch the shows virtually every night (Ghost Adventures and Lab in particular) and, along with Jay Leno, they’re the only shows we actually watch as a family lol.

But there is no activity threatening or particularly uncomfortable in any way. It’s peaceful, hasn’t even moved anything. Just feelings and the lights. Oh and, forgot to mention, once it turned on a TV on an early morning, but that happened only once.

And we’ve had priests come and bless this place twice, though not particularly for ghosts and demons, but we informed him and he set an intention for it too.
