Question:
I was taking pictures on top of my apartment building in NYC one night. I was looking at them and in one photograph, there is what looks like a building obscured by fog/snow. This isn’t in any of the other photos. I’ve had people suggest it’s a shadow cast on the fog (it wasn’t actually fog, it’s just the snow… plus I was up 11-12 stories, so I don’t think anything can cast a shadow that high). One person suggested it was dust/hair, but again, it’s not in any of the other pictures, before or after.
Here are two pictures:
With the “building”: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3179/3333461464_eb788db6e4.jpg
Without: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3640/3333461462_b1ebe6ebb8.jpg
Keep in mind, the above pictures were taken one after the other.
It’s facing southwest on the corner of 6th ave and 10th st in NYC. That clocktower is the Jefferson Market Library.
What do you think it can be?
Thanks!
This was using a digital camera. The noise is from the high ISO (1600).
Neither photos are terribly long exposures.

#2: Exposure: 0.167 sec (1/6)

Question:
My fiancee and I are planning a small party for our reception. We are planning to have a friend DJ it and we will be catering it ourselves with beer & takeout pizza. So we would need a location that will allow us to serve our own alcohol and food. We’ve thought of having it at Ashlar Hall (the old Castle), but can’t find contact information for the current owners. So we’re looking for something unique, maybe even an empty office in an office tower. The Sterick building would be amazing, but it’s been abandoned too long to probably be considered structurally safe by the owners. Any ideas or do you have a place?
Please note that this is not a traditional wedding reception. We don’t want professional wedding venues. Six slabs of concrete and some air conditioning would do nicely.

Question:
I am part of a group in Hernando County Florida that is planing on putting together a haunted house in our area in October. We are trying to find a building but I need to know the general dimensions of what I perceive to be the best one I’ve worked for and that was in Canfield, OH. So if anyone can give me this info or info on a good location in my area you will get 10 points. Thank You
