Ghost hunting equipment; copper sensing rods?

I know that there are many kinds of equipment used to ghost hunt. However, I forget the technical name of the copper rods used to sense a ghost. I remember you hold the two wires in your hand, and if they cross, there may be a ghost right there. Does anyone know the name of them? Or anywhere I can find a picture of them? Hey, I’m 14 and I want to begin paranormal investigation. Please don’t tell I shouldn’t dive into this stuff, I’ve always had a 6th sense, for as long as I can remember, so does my mom. I want to find out why these spirits are here, what is their purpose, and how I can help them. What type of equipment would a beginner need, none to expensive please.
I know about video taps/cameras
I know about recorders for evp’s
I know about night vision for cameras, etc
I need to know where I can get the thin, the heat sensor, you know to measure the heat, i.e. blue = cool, red = hot, etc. I also need the thing to measure the atomosphere’s electromatic level. What else would I need, what about computer software to analyze the data? Thanks.
Please, my question is serious, so I expect serious answers!

I have a question about night vision equipment. I know NV works by enhancing ambient light. It also is equipped with it’s own non-visible light for use when no ambient light is available. What happens if more then one person is using NV equipment (with the light on) at the same time and in the same area?
I am asking because of a ghost hunting show (Children of the Grave) that was on. In the show several people were using NV equipment and they recorded shadows that looked like people. The shadows appeared in front of near by trees and basically in front of the cameras. Specifically I saw 3 people with goggles, 2 cameras and one thermal camera that also had night vision.
To me this shows that the people using NV behind the camera were casting beams from several angles that caused shadows from the people around. The show claims that these are shadows of ghost children.
I am posting here because my main question is about night vision equipment; and I want answers about the equipment not about the existence of ghosts.
What would you recommend to put in a ghost hunting pack (Equipment, type of cloths, etc)?

Hey guys im a paranormal investigator and i wanted to know as of now if there are any new paranormal investigation equipment. I already have a K-2 meter, a regular EMF detector, a digital thermometer, a digital voice recorder, a mini DV camcorder, a digital camera, and a bunch of software on my computer to help with my EVP’s like audacity and picture project for my pictures, i want to get some new equipment so im ready for halloween does anyone know anything different? if so answer and thanks!!!
