Question:
I have an open mind when it comes to the paranormal, and I generally enjoy watching programmes about it.

There have been many previous posts regarding Most Haunted being fake or not. Here are a few of my thoughts.

Derek Acorah was a t~~t. He was obviously a showman who had researched the locations prior to the programme and was putting on a show. Ultimately though he just seemed very fake and like he was acting a lot of the time. Sometimes it would be obvious that he was winging it, or getting his facts crossed – the one that sticks in my mind was the London Dungeons episode when he was all over the place and Kieran O Keefe made him look like a fool. However, according to some links Keiran accused the show of dramatics and fakery, so as a supposed professional parapsychologist why is he still doing it? For the money? For the chance to prove there is no supernatural? Or because he believes being involved with the show gives him good research opportunities?

The second medium, David, seemed very genuine, not at all dramatic or showy and seemed like he often had good insights that impressed Kieran. I actually believed he was real…if he’s fake then he’s a damn good actor!

On the last Live a few weeks ago, it was the biggest load of rubbish I have seen. The medium was a complete joke, providing absolutely no detail and whenever he was asked a question he would ramble, or say nothing, or come out with some random dramatic action like screaming and saying “I just saw a face!”, which lets face it, would probably not be that scary to an expereinced medium.

For a ghost show the whole thing is totally unscientific; it’s more like ghost-based light entertainment. Compare the rational, scientific, sceptical approach of Ghost Hunters, where you see and hear well reasoned evidence. Most Haunted is just night vision cameras on the faces of the presenters all the time. It could be so much more!

Finally compare how silly and girly Yvette is on Most Haunted with the unflappable way she is when she does that programme with bands like Girls Aloud and McFly in haunted locations. I wish it was good but its som often just disappointing, unscientific etc I’m a sucker cos I still watch it just for that one monent when something good happens like in the Edinburgh Live when people were getting scratched by ghosts (supposedly) What you think?

EDIT; why do people like devilish truth waste their time answering, to tell me I’m wasting my time by asking? I just don’t get it
