This is an EVP recording from a preliminary daylight investigation of a historic site in Joliet, Illinois. The Aaron Friend Trading Post was built about 1829. All that remains are the two fireplace hearths. The sign for the historic site reads “if only these stones could talk.” The stones didn’t talk… but someone did. I think we captured the voice of the party animal of the early 1800′s on this EVP. Soldiers from as far away as Fort Dearborn in Chicago rode here to attend the several day long parties held at the trading post. The site is located on Francis Rd. just east of Gougar Rd. in Joliet for those of you close enough to check it out. Not much is left there to see. Please comment on the video. Pictures of the site are available on our MySpace. Thanks for watching.
